Combining large-scale art sculpture and inflatable play design, “Beibei the Giant Bear” was manufactured and produced by Anka Inflatables for Betop Culture Technology Co., Ltd., founded by artist Xiao Di. The work reinterprets Dalian’s city mascot Beibei the Bear as a gentle mechanical creature resting by the sea, merging the visual language of public art with interactive entertainment.
The structure spans 23 m in length, 13 m in width, and 6 m in height, weighing 3.5 tons. It uses a single-chamber air system powered by a 15 kW blower with an internal self-supporting frame for shape stability. Made from semi-translucent materials, it emits a warm internal glow at night, transforming into a luminous landmark along Dalian’s waterfront. Inside, an inflatable playground and trampoline area invite children and families to enter, play, and explore.
Through this collaboration, Anka and Betop integrated engineering precision, artistic creativity, and public engagement—bringing to life an air-sculpture that bridges imagination and joy in contemporary urban space.
